The R package glmhdfe implements a fast estimation procedure of generalized linear models with high dimensional fixed effects. The package makes use of a convenient property of some combinations of error term distributions and link functions, where the fixed effects have — conditional on all other estimated parameters — an explicit solution.

Install from GitHub via the remotes package:

install.packages("remotes")
remotes::install_github("julianhinz/R_glmhdfe")

The R package gravity.distances provides distances between geographic entities — such as countries, US states or Canadian provinces — that are consistent with the gravity equation in international economics.

To install the package in R, simply run the following commands:

         alt="mies.sty example."/>

mies.sty example.

mies.sty
is a clean LaTeX article style focused on clarity, spacing, and classic design — inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s less is more.

It comes in two variants:

mies.sty
: full-featured for math-heavy papers with tables and figures

minimies.sty
: stripped-down for short drafts and clean submissions

Start your article like this:

\documentclass[11pt,a4paper]{article}
\usepackage{mies} % or \usepackage{minimies}

Features include improved spacing, clean typography, longtable and TikZ support, and a custom macro set for academic writing.

A complete example is included in
example.tex
, featuring The Economics of Time Travel by Doc Brown et al.

Get it from GitHub or try it on Overleaf.

luhmann.sty
is a sleek LaTeX Beamer style for academic and professional presentations.
It builds on latex-presentation by Pierre-Olivier Michaillat.

Include
luhmann.sty
in a directory and use it in a presentation with:

In this note we describe how the first-order conditions of fixed effects in certain generalized linear models display a very convenient form. This can be exploited to implement a very fast GLM estimator with high-dimensional fixed effects, as we do in the R package glmhdfe.
